Far Cry 4 – Fortress Solo Early Gameplay & Impressions

In Far Cry 4, players find themselves in Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous, and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles, and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open world landscape.

In Far Cry 4 the Kyrat experience takes many forms and allows you to explore an incredible systemic world where every second is a story, whether delving into adventure and intrigue in single-player, taking on enemies and outposts in drop-in/drop-out co-op or competing with other players in PvP.

A vast expanse of hills and valleys bordered by the Himalayan peaks, Kyrat’s varied landscape and biomes mean getting around isn’t always as simple as jumping into a car or tuk-tuk. Going up will be more important than ever. In rough terrain, you might need to climb aboard a powerful elephant, or take to the skies with a gyrocopter, jump from it, and wingsuit down to any hard-to-reach point.

From the traditional kukri blade to the high-impact mortar, you can choose the right approach for the job. Here are just a few weapons in a diverse arsenal that will be at your disposal in Far Cry 4.

All console gameplay recorded with an Elgato HD60.

    Can't wait

  2. Tragedy INC says:

    Is the frames buttery smooth?

  3. Jimboola says:

When you take out outposts/fortresses do you still have a weapons locker like in FC3 to get ammo, sell your crap etc?

  4. unrealsimon93 says:

Are they replayable like outposts in FC3? (though that was patched later on)

  5. Anthony M. says:

RPG's are actually very accurate just take your time and line it up with your mouse

  6. Natassja G says:

Take out the alarms first & come in with silenced weapons, taking them out as much as you can from afar with a sniper rifle before going in. Works well for me.

  7. Bridin84 says:

Just took over 1 of 4 fortress without weakening it. Just walked around it and found a way in. I whipped out the BUZZSAW and ANNIHILATED EVERYTHING in the fortress. BUZZSAW = EASY MODE

  8. Beleth says:

Mines, mortars, heavily armored machine gunners, snipers, dogs, and helicopters. FUCK YOU!

  9. Diesel says:

I did one of these outposts early on in the game and all I had was an LMG and RPG… I didn't have any of my gear packs upgraded.. Just the basics.. the first time I tried I got demolished by mortars.. The second time I just blew the door off with an RPG, ran in, go into a random building and kept taking all the guys out from said building… I shot down the two helos that came with the RPG and the base was mine… They said this was supposed to be hard, but it was really easy lol..

  10. LongReach says:

I took down this fortress using zero bullets. I did one knife take down and used their mortar against them.

  11. lewisner says:

For some reason I am so bad with a bow in FC4 I may as well throw paper aeroplanes at the enemy. I just finished my 3rd play and this time it was sniper rifles M 700, Predator and finally Z93. It's easy to take the choppers out with the M-79 grenade launcher.

  12. Brisingr brom says:

If you go on top of that building you hid behind and go through the hole in the roof, there's an RPG and ammo in the rafters

  13. Stephano Zogas says:

There's a hidden rpg at this one.

  14. 凯伟恒 says:

The fortress is difficult to take down, but once you deal the helicopters  and mortars it would be easy

  15. Joe Hoppo says:

i took this outpost in stealth, but the last guy was about to hit the alarm and i got him with a headshot. i was super lucky lol
